Twitter (X) is a remarkable mirror of real life. Sure, there are trolls, bots, spam accounts, and rage-baiters, but there are also stories that reflect reality, even when they’re posted by an anonymous account with a cartoon for a profile picture.

I’ve been seeing this story increasingly both IRL and online: a woman waits years for her partner to be ready to have kids only to have him confess that “not ready yet” is code for “I don’t want to do this ever.”

The tweet reads: “guy who told my friend he wanted kids and married her and kept saying that and saying that doesn’t want kids now and she’s 34.”
